BIO

E. Kelly Walston

 

Mr. Walston brings over 42 years of experience in law enforcement and intelligence to the classroom. He began his career in the United States Air Force as a Security Policeman and Military Working Dog Handler, specializing in narcotics, explosives, and tracking, as well as serving as a trainer and SWAT team member. He then served with the U.S. Customs Service, later becoming a “Plank Holder” with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as a Canine Enforcement Officer. After earning his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees, he concluded his last 15 years with the Drug Enforcement Administration as an Intelligence Specialist, ultimately rising to the position of Field Intelligence Manager of a DEA Field Division. His assignments throughout his career gave him the opportunity to travel the world.

 

Mr. Walston now teaches Principles of Law, Public Service, Corrections, and Security, Law Enforcement I, and Law Enforcement II, and has previously taught Criminal Investigations and Forensic Psychology. He brings real-world expertise and professional standards into his lessons, with a passion for preparing students for success in public safety careers through practical knowledge, discipline, and ethical leadership.

 

Outside the classroom, Mr. Walston enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling and exploring, and all things Disney.
