A Comal ISD educator has earned one of the district's only National Board Certified Teacher Certification. Considered the gold standard in teacher certification, it is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.

Every year, teachers and staff members look forward to kicking off the school year with convocation, and while the music and food are great, the student performance is what brings them to their feet. This year's performance was no exception.

Comal ISD has set dates for this year's PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9 Tests for 2021.

The Comal ISD Board of Trustees called for two elections to be held Nov. 2. These two separate elections will address the district's enrollment growth and teacher compensation.

Before leaving for her next adventure at Cornell University, a recent Canyon High graduate encourages students to find their passions by exploring all that Comal ISD has to offer from athletics and fine arts to student clubs and organizations.

Last year, Comal ISD students earned as many as 438 industry-based certifications (IBC), giving them the opportunity to step into real-world jobs right out of high school. That’s more than double the number of certifications earned during the previous school year.

The district's seven middle school campuses competed against each other in 11 academic UIL contests this past spring. When the dust settled, Smithson Valley, Danville and Church Hill came out on top.

When community partners like the Canyon Lake Noon Lions step up to make a difference, students benefit. This time, the beneficiaries are students in Mountain Valley Middle School's essential academics program who are learning ways to become more independent.

Comal ISD was well represented at this year's FIRST Lego League Regional Championship with 13 teams advancing and three taking top honors. FIRST Lego League challenges students annually to create innovative solutions based on a central theme.

Comal ISD high school students represent their campuses annually at various UIL academic meets. This past year, they found success at local, regional and state levels with a graduating senior bringing home not one, but three gold medals.
